In the baby room this week the children have enjoyed playing with our indoor sand tray with loose parts such as fabric conditioner lids, bubble tubs and plastic pots. In the big room this week the children have been exploring the lunar new year including reading the story, acting out the story with lolly pop stick puppets, making lanterns and decorating dragon masks just to name a few. This supports the children in learning about different festivals, ways of life, different countries and various cultures. The children have also enjoyed playing with our role play hospital where they have taken on the roles of doctors, nurses and patients. This has encouraged the children to explore different occupations, care for others and expand their empathy as well as expanding their imagination, encouraging their personal social and emotional needs and building their communication.
